John M. McCormick, founder and principal of The Templar Group, will lead the Virtual CIO team for your implementation. Following the completion of an engineering degree from The University of Wisconsin, John pursued a career in management of computer programming and IT services departments.
Currently he has more than 30 years of experience in IT Management, including Director, Vice-President and CIO positions.
He has worked in both Manufacturing and Distribution environments, and has led teams supporting IT operations and infrastructure throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Benefiting from his strategic technology direction, companies have grown and expanded domestically and internationally. He has been involved in integrating Joint Ventures and Acquisitions into the existing technology landscape of the parent companies.
He has experience in telecommunications convergence, the introduction of high definition video conference equipment to reduce global travel budgets, and moving to virtual servers. These are only a few examples of how technology, properly deployed, can produce long term savings for your company.
John has a proven history of designing and implementing cost-effective and reliable solutions for companies while always remaining consistent with core business objectives. He can help you plan reliable, scalable and flexible platforms for your applications and information technologies that will grow and adapt with your organization.
After years of experience in various senior IT positions, John recognized a need for this same role in smaller to mid-sized companies that may not be able to afford a full-time senior-level IT professional, but still need the function. The idea of a Virtual CIO (vCIO) was developed, and John founded The Templar Group as a way to deliver executive-level IT management services to companies on an as-needed basis.
